es war brutal. brutal spannend. brutal geil. brutal frei. brutal…?
vom 4. juli bis 1. august fand der brutalste open call ever statt, online und vor ort.
auf dieser webseite sowie im brutalen katalog kannst du dir die dabei entstandenen ergebnisse anschauen.

mitmachen dürften alle. egal welches alter, welcher beruf oder welche künstlerische begabung – alles war möglich. man konnte entweder im büro brutal vorbei kommen und vor ort mit einer breiten auswahl an brutalen tools experimentieren oder einreichungen online im uploadbereich hochladen.

die offizielle open-call ausschreibung lautete dabei:

"thema: brutal…
brutalität ist individuell und vielfältig. sie reicht von ignoranz bis kaltblütigkeit –  ist eine in uns schlummernde realität, die uns fasziniert.

wer brutal ist, handelt gefühlskalt und rücksichtslos. doch was einst ausschließlich negativ assoziiert wurde, erhielt mit der zeit auch positive bedeutungen. brutal gilt als adverb der superlative. nur brutal cool ist cooler als cool.

ebenso vielfältig wie die bedeutungen von brutal sind auch deine interpretationsmöglichkeiten. zeig uns, was du unter brutal verstehst. von brutal süß bis brutal schrecklich ist alles erlaubt. auch bei der umsetzung hast du freie wahl. es können arbeiten aus allen medien eingereicht werden. ob poster, texte, fotografien oder plastische arbeiten
– alles ist möglich."

nach einsendeschluss wurden alle einreichungen gesichtet und die brutalsten darunter ausgewählt. diese könnt ihr nun hier betrachten, sowie in diesem katalog. 

das projekt ist im rahmen der bachelorarbeit von lisa hexamer entstanden.

everyone was welcome to participate. no matter what age, profession or artistic talent - everything was possible. you could either come to the büro brutal and experiment on site with a wide range of brutal tools or upload your submissions online in the upload area.

the official open call for submissions was:

brutality is individual and diverse. it ranges from ignorance to cold-bloodedness - it is a slumbering reality within us that fascinates us.

those who are brutal act emotionally cold and ruthlessly. but what was once associated exclusively negatively has also acquired positive meanings over time. brutal is considered a superlative adverb. only brutal cool is cooler than cool.

your interpretation possibilities are just as varied as the meanings of brutal. show us what you understand by brutal. from brutally sweet to brutally terrible, everything is allowed. you also have a free choice when it comes to implementation. works from all media can be submitted. whether posters, texts, photographs or sculptural works
- everything is possible."

after the closing date for submissions, all submissions were reviewed and the most brutal ones were selected. you can now view them here, as well as in this catalogue.
